British Columbia Bike to School Week 2011 will run May 30th - June 3rd.
Bike to School Week is a fun, week-long event that celebrates biking to school with friendly competition. If your community isn't organizing an event, your school can still participate! Register and sign up your classroom, team or school now - at the end of the week, you can use HASTE's Bike to School Week tracker tool to total up your team’s commutes to calculate your kilometres biked to school, discover the CO2 emissions you have saved and how you compare to others.
It's this easy:
- Click on the REGISTER button to create your team so that you’re ready to go for Bike to School Week. NOTE: If you are already registered on HASTE, please go HERE to upgrade your status to "teacher" (takes about 24 hours) or log out on the home page and re-register on this page.
- Download and print the hardcopy classroom/team sign-up sheet HERE to fill out the baseline information on your team in preparation for Bike to School Week.
- Go to it! Have fun getting the word out in your school about participating in Bike to School Week. Here are some resources/ideas for you.
- During Bike to School Week, Monday through Friday, use the classroom/team sign-up sheet to track class or team participation. Students can fill in the days themselves or teachers/team leaders can do a quick hands-up-hands-down survey each morning and enter a total.
- At the end of the week, enter the totals from the sheet into the Campaign Tracker to see your class or team's results. We'll post results from schools around the province on this website.
