Bike to School Week | HASTe - Hub for Active School Travel

Spring Bike to School Week 2013 is May 27-30th.

(Note: if this timing doesn't work for you, don't worry! Pick your own week to celebrate Bike to School Week - as long as you get your results in by the end of June, you'll qualify for recognition and prizing.)

Bike to School Week is a chance for Schools throughout Metro Vancouver to encourage and celebrate students and their families cycling to school. This year, HASTe BC and HUB are teaming up to provide more resources and support to help schools coordinate their Bike to School Week efforts.

Register your school online to participate to become eligible to win great prizes from event sponsors, enjoy a friendly competition with other schools in the region, and receive a resource package that includes:

Idea and activities sheets to to help you plan your school's participation,
Bike to School Week posters (download a printable version here),
Stickers and other student incentives, and
Classroom participation sheets to track your school's ridership.

(Note: both the poster and the participation sheets print just fine in black and white)

Riding a bicycle is the perfect way for kids to be active, help the environment, and have a lot of fun on the way to and from school. Riding to school builds regular physical activity into the daily routine, providing a strong foundation for a healthy lifestyle and a lifelong love of cycling.
