Singing in the Rain! Surrey school launches Extravaganza in Style!

Students and families from Berkshire Park Elementary School in Surrey were accompanied by Mayor Diane Watts on a rainy walk to school to help launch this year's Surrey Environmental Extravaganza!

This year Berkshire Park Elementary hosted the opening event for Surrey's 10th Annual Walk and Roll School Challenge. The school has been working closely with the City of Surrey on best routes to school maps, good signage and road crossings, and some new sidewalks. A perfect school to be chosen to kick off Surrey's Environmental Extravaganza!

Berkshire Park Elementary is just one of many Surrey schools improving their health and the environment by choosing to travel actively. Did you know that there is a special competition just for Surrey called The Stick to It Challenge? The highest walking and rolling participation over the next seven weeks will be awarded the Mayor's Golden Shoe Trophy to keep at their school for a year! Don't miss out!

Thanks Berkshire Park Elementary for getting everyone on the right track!
